About Carembache

Who are we?

Carembache Stud is a small holding in Southern Tasmania, Australia. We breed Anglo Nubian goats for sale. At the moment, our herd is small (only 4 animals), so we don't have any goats for sale yet.

 Our Goats

We are trying to improve our herd by introducing only the best breeding stock to our herd.
We have been breeding goats since 2011, and so we have only had one kidding so far. Our big doe, Holly, is off at the moment having a fling with a fantastic buck from further down south, Tyson. So far, Holly has avoided bucks, but we are hopeful that she gets pregnant this time. Holly is large for a doe of her age, and we have high hopes for her.
Minnie is "resting" this season, but she and her doe kid will be off to the boys next Autumn.

 Our Sheep

We also keep sheep. Our two ewe lambs are still a bit young to breed, but next season, they will be lambing, and that means that five months later we will have wiltipol lambs. The lambs are destined for the table for us, and that means that we can make sure that we know exactly how well they are treated, their veterinary care, their health status and finally, how much care and attention will go into their slaughter and butchery.

Our Chooks

Our chickens are a combination of White Leghorn hens and a Rhode Island Red rooster. They provide us with eggs for our table as well as surplus eggs that we sell for extra money (mostly pays for my coffee).

Other lunacy

I have another blog over here (The World According to Baelzabubba) where I talk about the other stuff that I do. Mostly hobby stuff and stuff to do with the handcrafts that I indulge in, such as: metal casting, my home made blacksmith forge, my home made metal melting furnace, woodwork, bowyery and making stuff for the property. In case you are wondering, the name "Baelzabubba" is a nickname that I acquired because of the way that I look when working on projects and has NOTHING to do with devil worship. I am not religious in any way shape or form. I don't worship anything at all.
